Requirements for Individual Membership as defined by the EAP Statutes:

• Must have an academic degree or equivalent and training as a psychotherapist in a scientifically recognized method according to the definition of psychotherapy made by the EAP.
• Must be a member of either (a recommendation is required for all individual membership applications), - an Ordinary Member Organisation of EAP - a National Accrediting Organisation of EAP - a European Wide Accrediting Organisation of EAP If appropriate, the Membership Committee can recommend that the Governing Board makes an exception.

Requirements for Organisational Membership as defined by the EAP Statutes: The organisation must be legally registered, and must possess an accountable administrative and financial structure; it must be active in the field of psychotherapy; it must have a clear definition of who is within the organisation, and on what grounds; and it must have a written code of ethics or ethical practice, compatible with the ethical guidelines of the EAP.
