Online Education/CPD

PESI UK – psychotherapy education online

As EAP President and General Secretary, we are delighted to partner with PESI UK, the largest psychotherapy online education provider in Europe, to bring you the very best and latest continuing professional development (CPD), education, and events across psychotherapy topics and modalities.

EAP, along with most professional psychotherapy organisations, recommend that psychotherapists engage with additional psychotherapy modalities to the modality approach you trained and qualified with. Conferences and CPD courses provide good opportunities for clinicians to engage and learn from other modality approaches.

However, finding good high-quality CPD courses outside our existing professional communities and networks can be difficult. Psychotherapists who live and work away from big cities in rural areas will also struggle to find and access CPD events. The online CPD portal provided by PESI UK transcends these limitations and connects you to an enormous range of further learning opportunities without any expensive and time-consuming travel.

All EAP members, ECP holders registered with EAP, and students of EAPTI’s are entitled to a special EAP 15% discount off any PESI UK online course, digital recording or live event. Please use code EAP2020 when booking to claim your discount.

With cordial greetings

Charles Cassar, Vice-President
Eugenijus Laurinaitis, General Secretary

Q: How can I get a CPD certificate for online CPD?

A: On completion of your online CPD, you have the option to complete a short online “test” if you want to receive a CPD certificate. The “test” is not an exam but simply some questions designed to verify and confirm that you participated. Once you complete the test, you will receive your certificate.

Q: There seem to be different kinds of online CPD events?
What are the differences?

1) Online courses:

Are web-based, “go at your own pace” packages of videos, presentations, slides and additional bonus materials that have been put together with world-renowned clinicians or researchers specialising in particular topics and modalities. Online courses have a forum for discussion to enable you to connect with other participants and deepen your understanding of the issues presented. On completion of your online course, you have the option to take a short online test to verify your participation in order to receive a CPD certificate.

2) Digital recordings:

Are recordings of workshops, conferences or seminars that have been video recorded. They are very useful as “at your own pace” learning packages. Digital recordings are generally shorter in length than an online course. Once you have watched a digital recording, you have the option to take a short online test to verify your participation in order to receive a CPD certificate.

3) CPD library subscription:

Access to over 300 hours of clinical content for only £10.99 per month

Training

Psychotherapists are required to engage in extensive personal psychotherapy during their training which is up to seven years duration. Psychotherapists usually have a first degree followed by a professional, highly specialised, theoretical and clinical training which includes research methodology and continuous professional development. The EAP promotes the recognition of common standards of training throughout Europe, and will ensure their mobility across member states.
